Welcome to Dragonswood Bluff
18th to 20th July 2025
Between 18th and 20th July 2025 we took over Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Cyncoed Campus and transformed it into Dragonswood Bluff! More than 150 of you joined us for a weekend of social deduction and dragon enthusiasm.
The event is now over and we’d love to hear your feedback so we can learn what went well, and pick up on any areas for us to improve on in future.
SPIES
The weekend saw Nicky run the largest ever game of SPIES!
Fifty seven people had an hour to find their teammates, drop cryptic clues about their identity and solve the mystery of which players were allies and which were hidden enemies intent on deceiving them.
Double Trouble
Another favourite of the weekend was our Double Trouble game which mashed up characters and doubled the size of the game.
30 of you paired up as roles like the Night Knight, the Granbler, or the Understress.
Blood on the Clocktower
Over 33 hours and spread across 10 rooms as well as outside playing spaces we saw several dozen games of Blood on the Clocktower played out.
Everything from Trouble Brewing through to fully homebrewed sets of characters like For The Greater Good – which prompted a whole slew of catchphrases heard around the venue.
The Gang
It’s almost impossible to talk about large scale social deduction gaming events without mentioning The Gang these days.
We had a board games library for the weekend and every time we walked past, we found another group working their way through this cooperative poker game.
Other fun and games
From themed bingo cards to wanted posters, cosplay and an interactive map showing how far people had travelled to see us, there was so much to see and do over the weekend.
We had quizzes, themed games, secrets hidden around the venue and more… and we were thrilled with everyone’s reaction to what we put together.
We think Dragonswood Bluff was a massive success and we couldn’t be happier to have met you all there.
We hope you all had as much fun as we did, and we can’t wait to see what can be done next year!
